Welcome to the Team…

I would like to welcome to the Healer’s Touch team…. dun dun duuuun… Matt Donnici.

Matt is working (like, right now!) feverishly on a cover illustration for Healer’s Touch! How mega exciting is that? Yeah! Mega MEGA exciting! We’ve been discussing concepts and finer details the last couple of days, and Matt has done amazing work shaping his initial sketch into something that looks really promising. Really promising. I’m excited. Can you tell?

To give you an idea, here’s a taste of what Matt can do (and of course you can check out more at his DeviantArt Gallery.

He’s going to fit right in with Healer’s Touch when he can draw a Steampunk-styled watch like this…

And he can draw detailed landscapes like this…

And then you see his portraits (believe me, they’re worth looking at). As a fan of “Deadwood”, here’s an example I rather like…

Yeah… So… are you excited to see the cover now? Me too! Lucky for me, I don’t think it will be long before I get to take a peak. But don’t you worry, as soon as I’m allowed to share it with you guys, I’ll be sharing!

So, let Matt know what you think and leave a comment (here or on his DA gallery… or both…).

Yeah… I think I can forgive him for being an Aussie, too…

Deb E was born in New Zealand’s North Island, but her parents corrected that within months, moving south to Dunedin and staying there. Childhood nights were spent falling asleep to cover versions of Cliff Richard and the Shadows and other Rock ’n Roll classics played by her father’s band, and days were spent dancing to 45 LPs. Many of her first writing experiences were copying down song lyrics. She graduated to scientific reports when she studied a nematophagus fungus in the Zoology department of the University of Otago, trading all traces of popularity for usefulness… then traded both for fiction. Mum of one human & four fur-babies.
