Six Sentence Sunday – I Don’t Hate You #SixSunday

Hey all! Thought I’d give this Six Sentence Sunday another blast.

Anyway, with Healer’s Touch due to be released in January, I thought I might work on garnering some interest.

I noticed that a lot of the #SixSunday posts tend to come from some rather “fun” reads (o; So, I thought I’d pick a bit from “the sex scene” in mine, without giving too much away…

Jonas studied her face for several moments—never mind that she was standing there naked.

“I wonder what you were like.”

“Before you learned to hate men.”

“I don’t—” Llew’s reply caught in the back of her throat. He was right. Well, maybe not hated them, but she sure as hell didn’t trust them.

And again, here’s a blurb:

Llew has a gift. Her body heals itself from any injury—but at a cost to anyone nearby.

In a country fearful of magic, freeing yourself from the hangman’s noose by wielding forbidden power brings dangers of its own. After dying and coming back, Llew drops from the gallows into the hands of Jonas: the man carrying the knife with the power to kill her—permanently.

The last of his warrior race, Jonas is haunted by memories of his loved ones. At his side, the cursed knife that took their lives, which also acts as a cruel reminder of his pain. Jonas has learned the hard way that caring for others means their death.

Jealous of his half-brother’s celebrated strength and speed, Braph created the device that gives him the power to perform magic, any magic. But it needs fuel—the blood of a healer …

Anyway, I suppose I had better get on with editing Healer’s Touch, or writing the as yet untitled Book 2, or getting some sleep, whichever it is that I’m meant to be doing about now…

Deb E was born in New Zealand’s North Island, but her parents corrected that within months, moving south to Dunedin and staying there. Childhood nights were spent falling asleep to cover versions of Cliff Richard and the Shadows and other Rock ’n Roll classics played by her father’s band, and days were spent dancing to 45 LPs. Many of her first writing experiences were copying down song lyrics. She graduated to scientific reports when she studied a nematophagus fungus in the Zoology department of the University of Otago, trading all traces of popularity for usefulness… then traded both for fiction. I like Jonas already…Nice Six!

Very nice 6. Jonas comes across great. I love how he cares more about her as a person than her physical body.
